A Few Words

About Us

The TACO Charity Foundation is named for Thomas, Agnes and Christiana Okojie, and it embodies the values that they represent.

While he was alive, Thomas Okojie was a very benevolent man; he was known for catering for the community and his home was always open for people to come and eat with him. He also sponsored children in the community beyond his own immediate family to school, and was a mentor and a father in the community, helping widows and the less privileged in many ways.

His wife Agnes Okojie shared a similar perspective to life. She was warm and she was the mother of the community. Outside of her own five children, she catered and served as a mother for the community and adopted many children who were needy and less privileged, supporting them with school fees, providing clothing for those who were unable to afford it.

Their son Julius Okojie married Christiana Oluremi Okojie and they both had the same mind-set. Over the course of 40 years, Christiana Okojie with her husband Julius, sponsored hundreds of children through secondary school; they sponsored dozens of individual to study abroad and they have been a source of succour for different communities – whether it was providing water for underserved communities in Abuja or setting up a teaching institution in Uromi, to ensure that the youth and less privileged in the area had access to education and to healthcare, and were empowered to be able to stand on these and achieve more.

This foundation seeks to continue that legacy of Thomas, Agnes and Christiana Okojie and to establish the values that they stood for – values of love, values of compassion, a sense of caring and empathy, values of leadership, values of sacrifice, values of education and health.

The TACO Charity Foundation continues that vision and legacy by focusing on education, health and social amenities.

With your support, we can continue this work – to educate, empower, touch and transform more lives.
